Job Description

The Compensation and Benefits Analyst will be responsible for assisting in the development and administration of a competitive, fair and equitable total compensation and benefits program that aligns with New Visions culture and values and is compliant with legal requirements. These include but are not limited to base pay analysis, job evaluation, management of outsourced leave administration, annual incentive programs, and all aspects of the benefits package.  


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, analyze, and recommend ongoing changes to compensation and benefits structure (e.g. salary grades/bands and position placements) and policy to maintain desired external competitiveness, internal equity and legal compliance
  • Manage all leave of absence tracking and administration (e.g. FMLA, Workers Compensation, Disability)
  • Assist in job evaluations, analysis, classifications, and job description development
  • Participate in compensation and benefits related market surveys and analyze results to assess competitiveness with market trends and determine prevailing pay rates
  • Respond to inquiries related to total compensation/rewards and benefits information to staff
  • Audits to HRIS and benefits carriers personnel data/elections/leave status to ensure proper data integrity
  • Liaison with benefits brokers and insurance carriers as needed for leave management
  • Support annual merit increase and bonus process and analyses
  • Assist in annual benefits (health, dental, vision, life, disability and other ancillaries) package market analysis review and recommendations
  • Support government filings and plan audits, including but not limited to health and pension Form 5500
  • Comply with all data privacy and protection guidelines and requirements
  • Prepare ad hoc and dashboard reporting and analytics as needed

Secondary Job Functions:

  • Support HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition Team members with necessary data and guidance to support attraction and retention of staff during employee life-cycle, including on pay decisions and guideline interpretation
  • Monitor federal, state, and local compensation and benefits laws and regulations to ensure organizational compliance
  • Conduct ongoing research into emerging trends, issues and best practices related to compensation and benefits as well as job requirements and structural relationships
  • Support to Payroll and Benefits Administrator on HRIS data entry and auditing during peak seasons
  • Support during collective bargaining agreement negotiations on market data analysis and recommendations

Interacts with: Primarily with HR, Finance and School leaders though will interact with staff at all levels as well as external partners related to compensation and benefits

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferred in Mathematics, Economics or Statistics
  • CEBS and/or CCP certifications preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years experience related to compensation and benefits program design and analysis and leave administration; experience with management of base and variable pay programs, job evaluation systems, outsourced leave management and self-funded health insurance highly preferred
  • Track record of success in a fast-paced environment and in managing multiple projects while prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines
