What you’ll do

As an Integrated Communications Specialist, you will help external audiences understand what KIND means when we talk about doing the KIND thing for our world.

      Program Development & Execution

  • You will partner with the Director of Integrated Communications to develop and execute plans that build awareness of KIND’s social mission among external audiences (i.e., media; digital influencers; experts/partners; and the KIND community). To do this effectively, you will partner with cross-functional teams, and in particular the KIND Movement team, to develop and optimize programming that lends itself to compelling storytelling, strengthens KIND’s reputation, connects our mission to our brand/product, and gives consumers another reason to love and trust KIND.

      Media Relations

  • You will be responsible for generating consistent media coverage and social conversation as part of an integrated “news engine” team. On a monthly basis, you will develop and pitch storylines/mini campaigns that spotlight our commitment to doing the KIND thing for the world.

      Integrated Communications Support

  • You will support the broader team on a variety of initiatives. These initiatives may include pitching KIND products or product-centric campaigns; developing media materials that tell our story; supporting food policy or health & wellness initiatives as they arise; pitching KIND’s CEO to business press; and supporting thought leadership positioning efforts.

 

What you’ll bring to KIND

  • Experience in CSR, social impact or corporate communications
  • An understanding of traditional communications and how it integrates with social, digital, influencer and content work-streams

You are…

  • Proactive, with a demonstrated ability to not only execute what has been handed to you, but also create new
  • Creative, with an ability to develop ideas independently, and execute them in a way that drives results and advances our business objectives
  • Intellectually curious and a “culture vulture” who is in tune with trending news and topics, as well as new digital platforms, news outlets, columns, etc.
  • A connector and relationship builder. You have no hesitation picking up the phone and calling media, influencers or partners to sell them on an idea. You are also empathetic, and have a way of putting yourself in others’ shoes to understand their motivations, goals, etc.
  • A team player who can partner with those outside the integrated communications department to build programming that meets everyone’s objectives
  • Genuine in your desire to help make the world a kinder place, committing to always spreading and celebrating kindness

 

You have…

  • 2-4 years of experience, ideally at a communications agency or in-house at a fast-growing, entrepreneurial brand
  • B.A. in communications, marketing, or a related business field
  • Strong writing skills and a keen understanding of how to pair different messages with different audiences
  • An ability to move quickly, especially under pressure, to ensure we remain nimble and ideas are acted upon in real time
  • An understanding of the social impact space, including best practices and key players, and a belief that businesses have a responsibility to create positive societal impact

 

Pluses

  • You have existing relationships with business and/or social impact media and influencers
  • You have worked with non-profit partners in the past
  • You have design skills beyond basic PPT
  • You have previously developed social impact reports
